I’m not a model. Nor am I a doctor, bodybuilder, or football player. But when I wake up in the morning, I know I want to get myself clean and ready for the day in a way that suits me, as a man. So I take my time in front of the mirror after showering and brushing my teeth, and I have a small daily routine. It seems to work very well for me, so I figured I would share it!
First, after using my conditioner and shampoo for men in the shower, I just run a comb through my hair. I’m not one to use products like gel, but I also don’t have anything against anyone who does. I suppose I just don’t feel it’s worth the effort.
Once my hair is out of the way, I prepare to get my skin moisturized. I use a daily face wash in the shower but also apply a moisturizer, as my skin gets quite dry. Especially during the colder seasons. I tend to get bags under my eyes, so I have a cream for under eyes that I apply to alleviate that problem. This cream for under eyes lightens the bags and makes them a lot less noticeable.
From there, I go to my small drawer of accessories for shaving, and I grab my beard trimmer. I don’t actually do this every day, but I try to keep my beard tidy. After a quick trim, I apply a little bit of after shave for men. That, along with the cream for under eyes, gives me a nice, pleasant smell that I’m not ashamed to admit I’m proud of.
I’ve got my specific brand of deodorant that I prefer, though I won’t share that here. No use in me going and promoting some big brand. But I have gotta say, to those of you who think you can go without deodorant, please reconsider that notion. Not trying to be rude, mind you. Just as a general rule of thumb, we should all try to smell our best.
So that’s my usual morning routine. My skin is in much better condition since I started all this, and overall there is a stark difference in the before and after. I recommend trying something similar, though obviously tweak aspects of it. Whatever you do, you want to make sure it’s what works for you.
